Chapter 1 (The Financial Illiterate)

The first chapter of the wealthy barber introduces the characters there is not much action happening in the first chapter. The main character is Dave and his wife sue (who is pregnant) and they live in ann arbor Michigan. Dave tells how him and his wife go to port huron every third weekend to visit with family and friends. The couple have a very set schedule when going to port huron, and one of the things dave and tom do is go to roy millers barber shop. Dave goes with tom, who has a relationship with his older sister cathy. Dave also tells of how they spend time with his in laws, the Wash-burns, who own a very successful cleaning business. Dave soon realizes he has a lack of financial knowledge, after reading an article and decides to call his dad to receive some help regarding his financial status. Dave wants to reach the american dream just as anyone else.
